DELINIASI POTENSI BIJIH BESI DI DAERAH SIJUK, BELITUNG UTARA BERDASARKAN ANALISIS DATA GEOMAGNET DAN VERY LOW FREQUENCY (VLF)

Abstract

Analisis terpadu menggunakan data geomagnet, penampang VLF (Very Low
Frequency) dan uji laboratorium conto batuan di daerah Sijuk, Belitung Utara telah dilakukan untuk memperoleh pola struktur geologi dangkal yang dihubungkan dengan prospek bijih besi. Singkapan bijih besi daerah Sijuk tersusun oleh hematit, Fe, dan gosan yang terletak pada lokasi prospek endapan timah. Secara geologi bongkah bijih besi tersebut merupakan produk dari aktifitas magmatik yang menghasilkan lava basal dan dinamakan Formasi
Siantu.

Anomali geomagnet daerah penelitian ini berkisar antara -200 nT sampai 180 nT, dan penampang data VLF menunjukkan konduktivitas bahan yang diperoleh lebih kecil dari 20%. Dari pengujian conto batuan diperoleh nilai Fe lebih kecil dari 36%. Nilai anomali geomagnet tersebut cenderung meninggi menuju puncak perbukitan seperti di Bukit Bulin, Bukit Menggeris dan Bukit Merung, dan data VLF nilai konduktivitas bahan cenderung menurun hingga lebih kecil dari 20%.

Berdasarkan analisis data geomagnet, penampang VLF maupun uji conto batuan
dapat disimpulkan bahwa daerah Sijuk pada dasarnya tidak menunjukkan potensi bijih besi, dan diperkirakan endapan besi lateritik ini merupakan hasil proses kimiawi dari oksidasi lempung.
